“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” - Ephesians 3:20
This verse has been the focus for our family for the past couple of years. When things look bleak, when things look like they can’t get better, when you are asking where is God, only to be met with silence, we have clung to this verse as a family, and we have believed and are believing that He is able to do so much more than our brains can comprehend. God has brought our family to Tulsa, Oklahoma, during this season, and He is doing so much in our lives. We are attending Victory Christian Center, and the heart of the church is this:
“I am here on purpose, because I have a purpose. My heart is open and my mind is ready to receive, because God is not finished with me yet. My best days are right in front of me, and I have victory in my life because Jesus lives in me.”
The testimony behind the motto is so powerful. The senior pastor of the church had passed away, and his son was in transition to take over the ministry. He kept thinking that the best days of the church were gone, and that his best days personally were behind him, that he could never do as much as his dad. Then one night when he pulled onto the church property, God spoke this saying to his heart. Now the church says it every service to remind us as a corporate body, but also each of us personally, that God has a future and a hope for our lives, and that our best days are in front of us, not behind us.
When our family visited Tulsa last year (not knowing that we would move here), this saying exploded inside of us. We had served the Lord for years in Romania, all sold out for God and serving in ministry full-time for His Kingdom. We had thought so many times that our best days were gone, yet we knew that this word was for us. Now a year later we cannot believe that God brought us here, and we are part of this church. We are learning so much and feel like we are in God’s school for the second half of our lives.
We can see our kids getting the spiritual foundation that they need to have for their lives that are before them. We are so excited in our hearts for what God is doing, even though we still do not know exactly what tomorrow holds.
We want to encourage you today that if you do not understand God’s ways, if you are not able to see what He is doing, just hold on. Never ever give up. Continue to trust Him. His ways are higher than ours and when we walk in surrender to His will, you will reap a harvest. You will reap good things. We have so much to share with you about God’s faithfulness in our family and in the ministry in Romania. In the next few months, we will be doing our newsletters as we raise the funds needed for our fall trip. In these we will share more of the faithfulness of the Lord and how His hand is forever with us. In doing this, please be reminded, that God has so much for each of you. We share our stories to encourage and provoke you to believe God in your own lives. Don’t settle for second best. Believe Him for the absolute best for yourself, your family, and your loved ones. Never give up. Pray always. The Lord is forever faithful and willing to move on our behalf.
We want to thank all of you so much for continuing to support our ministry trips to Romania. You are such a blessing in our lives. This fall we will not be able to attend our annual student conference, Torent, in October. However, we know that our pastors and staff there will do a phenomenal job in taking care of this. God has opened the door for us to go in November to encourage our churches and pastors and to go over the things that have been in 2018 and the things that will be in 2019. Our tickets are reserved, and we are raising funds to cover the costs. Many of you have already been giving to our trips, and what a blessing you are. We are constantly saving and preparing for the next trip, and we thank you for your faithfulness. We pray God blesses each one of you, and we thank you for all that you do for our family and the ministry in Romania. We miss you all dearly, but are so glad that we serve in His mighty Kingdom together. You are forever our friends and family, and we love you all so much!
